U.S. judge in Flynn case retires, joining wave of jurists allowing Biden to name successor

NEW: Judge Emmet Sullivan, who presided over the prosecution of Michael Flynn and former senator Ted Stevens, tells President Biden he is taking senior status in April.

Sullivan's decision to step back from active service is part of an anticipated wave of retirement announcements that will allow Biden to make his mark on the judiciary.
