D.C.-area forecast: A magnificent week of weather with just a couple of blemishes

Some showers and storms are possible late Tuesday.

Express forecast

Today: Mostly sunny. Highs: Near 80.
Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows: 56 to 63.
Tomorrow: Partly sunny, perhaps a shower or storm late. Highs: 79 to 84.

Forecast in detail

This week is right up there among the nicest of the year. Almost every day is a winner with cool, crisp mornings and warm, sunny afternoons. A cool front passing Tuesday afternoon and evening could produce a few showers and storms, and there’s some uncertainty about the forecast for part of the weekend. But, otherwise, this week is close to perfect.

Ours have a tendency to radically change over a couple of hours or days.

Often they get the current weather wrong too.

"Expect dry conditions to continue," WHILE it's raining.

"Mosly cloudy right now," WHILE the sky is blue and cloudless.
