How Much Snow Is Expected to Fall.

A massive winter storm is bearing down on the East
Coast. The National Weather Service is forecasting
significant accumulation from Tennessee to
Massachusetts. The heart of the storm may blanket
Washington with more than 20 inches of snow. JAN. 22, 2016

the worse it gets.

Here on Long Island, so far we're looking at 6-12", with high tide and the full moon giving us some flooding. Most of the towns have plows and salt at the ready and the power company has crews strategically posted. Temps in the mid-30's means the roads should be cleared easily enough.

But, sustained winds of up to 35 and gusts to 50 for almost 24 hours means trouble. Those power co. crews will earn their money.

I measured 19 inches at 10 am. I haven't been out since, but it has continued snowing and blowing. I won't go out again until the dog gets antsy. I think we may get 30 inches.
