I really hate our Senator

I asked him not to vote for this and he responded with "I not only will vote for it but I introduced NEW legislation to go against what you want". This guy has GOT to go.

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding religious liberty and the right of conscience. Religious freedom is a core American principle, one that our Founding Fathers enshrined in the Constitution, a principle we must preserve and protect.

Despite our heritage deeply rooted in religious liberty, on January 20, the Obama Administration issued a mandate under Obamacare that required church-affiliated organizations to offer their employees private insurance coverage with no out-of-pocket charges for contraceptives and related products. This federal mandate ignored efforts by many faith-based organizations to be granted an exemption on religious grounds.

On January 30, I introduced the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2012 (S. 2043) to establish a tangible religious exemption to this mandate to ensure that our federal government cannot force religious organizations to abandon the fundamental tenets of their faith. In addition to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, I have also co-sponsored both the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act (S. 1467) and the Religious Freedom Protection Act (S. 2092) to protect the fundamental right of religious organizations to be exempt from federal mandates that violate their core beliefs. As these important pieces of legislation that protect religious liberty move forward in the Senate, I will certainly keep your thoughts in mind.

On February 10, after much criticism and bipartisan pressure, President Obama announced that the mandate originating from Obamacare will no longer place the cost burden to cover contraceptives on religious organizations, but instead the cost will now fall on the insurance companies to cover contraceptives for all employees. There are legitimate concerns about this new policy as well, which is why we must pass legislation to protect religious liberties.

Again, thank you for contacting me about religious liberty and the right of conscience, and I look forward to any thoughts or input you wish to share in the future.

Sincerely,

Marco Rubio
United States Senator

"So here are a few measures that I think will help set change or send that signal. Let's reform the tax code and reduce tax rates across the board.
Let's eliminate double taxation by abolishing the taxes on capital gains, on dividends, on interest. And while we're at it, let's eliminate the one on death, too.
Let's significantly lower the corporate tax rates so that once again it's competitive with the rest of the world.
Let's stop big government energy mandates like cap-and-trade, and instead trust the American innovator to make us energy independent.
Instead of having the federal government go out and open an insurance company, let's make a series of simple changes that puts the consumer in charge of health-care spending in America. And while we're at it, let's try some lawsuit abuse reform, as well. And finally, let's undertake serious measures that show that we are serious about getting control of our federal national debt"

I'm going to cut taxes everywhere and then get serious about the debt. What an ass.

That may be his weakness & his strength. Latinos will probably respond to him because this class distinction is accepted as part of the culture. But it might grate others.

The matching bill in the House. I gave his office an earful about that and the no women hearing last week and told them that I would be donating to whoever runs against his ass.

I only wish that the right wingers over reaching will piss off enough voters that all Republicans will get voted out!

I also got this from Bill Nelson:

Dear Mr. xxxxxxxx:

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me on the issue of insurance coverage for contraceptives.

Like you, I believe we need to protect women’s access to affordable health care. But I am also a believer in religious freedom and the separation of church and state.

The Administration has modified a proposed new health care rule so that it protects women’s access to health care while also respecting the beliefs of religiously-affiliated employers.

Some in Congress would like to go much further by allowing any employer to deny health care coverage on a religious or moral belief. This is too broad and goes too far, which is why I voted against the so-called "Blunt amendment."

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your views. And please don’t hesitate to do so in the future on this or any other issue.

Sincerely,
Bill Nelson
