Notice of Election Lakeland Downtown Development Authority Board
n election for the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) will take place on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The election is open to all property owners within the LDDA boundaries who are not fully exempt from ad valorem taxation, as well as registered voters residing within the LDDA area. The LDDA covers approximately 559 acres in Lakelands downtown core (see attached map).
The LDDA is a special taxing district. Taxpayers in the district pay up to an additional 2 mill every year in property tax that can only be spent in the district. Six of the members elected by district are property owners and the seventh is a City Commissioner appointed by the City of Lakeland Mayor.

At this election, voters will select two (2) members to serve on the LDDA Board for three-year terms, beginning January 1, 2026, and ending December 31, 2028.
