Who encouraged Crist to run for Senate?

Crist says he is considering U.S. Senate run

Charlie Crist is considering another run for the U.S. Senate, in the 2016 race..

"Well, I have been encouraged to," Crist said Wednesday when asked by phone about reports that he might run again. Crist, who is in New York, declined to elaborate.

Crist, a former Republican governor of Florida, ran for the Senate in 2010 as an independent, losing handily to Republican Marco Rubio, but finishing ahead of Democrat Kendrick Meeks.

In 2013 he formally changed his party affiliation to Democrat and last year ran again for governor, losing to incumbent Republican Gov. Rick Scott in a close race.

Debbie Wasserman "I am gonna be the senator so I can protect my fellow fake democrats" Schultz will take care of that. She wants the prize, period.

9. IF Wasserman-Schultz Runs, The REAL Democrats Of This State

had better get Real busy like YESTERDAY! NO, it's bad enough that the "other" Democratic Senator of this state is so DLC. Sure, from time to time he votes as a Democrat, but mostly I consider him as a follower. I've been to many rallies for candidates where he was in attendance and have given him a special nick-name... Finger-In-The-Wind Bill!

I don't think I've used the word "HOPE" since Obama ran for President in 2008 because it was his slogan, but since then I've avoided the word because I saw from the get-go that the long knives came out from the other side. Back then I was astonished when I heard about the Rethugs vowing to keep him from getting elected to a 2nd term.

My father introduced me to politics a long time ago when I was 11, and I became an addict. Since that time, depending on circumstances going on in my life I've always tried to keep myself politically informed. At times simply by reading and listening, but many times in the trenches working to elect candidates doing whatever was needed, other times attending rallies and marching locally and then the bigger marches at my state capitol and in D.C. As a Boomer I've lived through many upheavals and changes in this nation, but I don't think I've ever seen an opposition Party so filled with hate and vitriol who are so willing to do ANYTHING to stop a POTUS from moving our nation forward. But I also don't think I've seen a Democratic Party roll over and play dead when we've needed them to step up to lead and fight back!

I'm aware we've always had back door deals, fraud, lies and outright abuse of power but don't think I've ever seen so many uninformed, unintelligent and even ignorant people getting elected. Mostly though it seems many of our Democrats are DLC or right leaning and easily persuaded to go along to get along. How Wasserman-Schultz was chosen to head the DNC escapes me. Not really sure if she's Jewish but that could have been a big factor, but no matter she's almost a joke to me.

As for Crist I'll admit I voted for him over Kendrick Meek because Meek wasn't going to get elected had anyone checked him out or realize his poll numbers weren't ever going to get better. I took a lot of flack for it, but I still believe he would have had a better chance of beating Rubio had Democrats supported him. He's nothing if not a perpetual politician but I did have to give him credit for not running away from being seen with Obama, which is much more than I can say about our right leaning Democrats. IMO, those Democrats who tried to squirm and wiggle around the questions they were asked about Obama might have won. I know it made me very angry when I saw how hard they tried to distance themselves from him. Neither Obama nor Hillary were my first choice in 2008, but I wasn't going to vote for the other side! I'm also concerned about 2016 because it seems Hillary is the chosen one. She has LOTS of baggage and Rethugs are simply going to make a scandal out of everything and if she's elected it will never stop! Another 4 or 8 years of these past 8 years is almost more than I can take!

It will be very hard me to vote for D. Wasserman-Schultz and I'm not crazy about Crist but I'd choose him over her. It would be nice to have someone else in the race, so I need to do some research. Yeah I know, this post was a little to long, I get long winded most of the time!

Fla US Sen poll: Patrick Murphy stronger against Rubio than Wasserman Schultz

http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/the-buzz-florida-politics/fla-us-sen-poll-patrick-murphy-stronger-against-rubio-than-wasserman/2220716

A newly released Mason-Dixon poll shows Marco Rubio comfortably positioned to win reelection should he seek a second U.S. Senate term, with double digit leads over two leading Democratic prospects, U.S. Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Patrick Murphy. But the lesser known Murphy at this point trails by 12 percentage points, compared to 17 percent for DNC Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz.

"From these numbers, it is clear that Murphy offers a cleaner slate for Democrats to work with than Wasserman Schultz. Murphy has only 3% unfavorable name recognition, while Wasserman Schultz’s is significantly higher. Statewide, her favorable/unfavorable numbers are upside down by almost a 2-to-1 margin (19% favorable to 36% unfavorable)," pollster Brad Coker wrote in a memo.

If Rubio runs for president and sticks by his promise not to use his senate seat as a back--up plan, CFO Jeff Atwater looks formidable. More from Mason-Dixon:

If Rubio sticks with his presidential run, the GOP has a strong back-up candidate in State CFO Jeff Atwater. Atwater leads both potential Democrats – holding a 45%-35% advantage over Wasserman Schultz and a 46%-32% lead over Murphy.

7. He contacted a Democratic Club in a nearby county and

suggested he would be available to speak at one of their fundraisers. I hope he drops out early. I saw him "in action" during the campaign for governor and was dismayed to see him fluff an easy opportunity to score points at an event in our area. Worse, I had multiple contacts with his campaign and came away with the conviction that his organization was ineffectual.

I know Patrick Murphy well. I worked on his first run- against Allen West. He's not my kind of Democrat but he is a very focused and effective campaigner. He works at it, and although not a natural, he's become very competent in a short time.

8. Are we talking about the same Charlie Crist who lost to a guy named Marco Rubio?

That guy? If he's running as Dem he's definitely going to lose.

Oh. And thank you very much Kendrick Meeks for handing the senatorship to Marco Rubio. You're the perfect example as to why this state elects Republicans.
