Related: About this forumSupreme court retention research ... spread the word - Canady is a Trump pick for SCOTUS
http://saintpetersblog.com/martin-dyckman-donald-trump-pick-charles-canady-bring-dog-whistles-scotus/Most people have no idea who is who and how they vote on certain issues. They are usually voted to be retained. While most have their good points and bad points I would like to bring notice that Justice Canady, in the interest of Democratic voters, is one of Trump's top picks for the US Supreme court. That is enough for me to vote no on his retention. Though there is little time left before the election it may be possible to get the word out that a no vote on Canady is really important. Tell your friends, post on facebook, twitter and elsewhere and maybe we can have him removed.

I was looking at my ballot yesterday and researched the judge:
https://ballotpedia.org/Charles_Canady
In October 2012, political science professors Adam Bonica and Michael Woodruff of Stanford University attempted to determine the partisan ideology of state supreme court justices. They created a scoring system in which a score above 0 indicated a more conservative-leaning ideology, while scores below 0 were more liberal.
Canady received a campaign finance score of 0.87, indicating a conservative ideological leaning. This is more conservative than the average score of 0.51 that justices received in Florida.
The study is based on data from campaign contributions by the judges themselves, the partisan leaning of those who contributed to the judges' campaigns, or, in the absence of elections, the ideology of the appointing body (governor or legislature). This study is not a definitive label of a justice, but an academic summary of various relevant factors.[10]

(42,757 posts)2. One thing I have never forgotten about Canady.
It may have been ten years or more ago, but when he was a state congressman he was eating at a Lakeland Olive Garden and he didn't like the service he was getting from his server. He complained to the manager and got her fired. After it made the media she got her job back eventually. But I haven't been to an Olive Garden since then and don't intend to in the future.

and to teach1st for that link to the rest of those judges which I can now go look at. I assume a lot of those judges are Repug installed cons but I could be way off on that.
Big help!
