(16,993 posts)She is very well liked, and as the article stated, has beat a republican in the past. She's a little more conservative than I'd like but... it's Florida.

(171,034 posts)the description of Gillum, but it seems he has baggage. Graham has name recognition and this could be the year of the woman, plus she's invested in healthcare/Medicaid which Florida needs, so I'm with you.

(14,565 posts)I noted he had many high profile endorsements, primarily from the Sanders wing.
Mostly I'm concerned about nominating a woman. I know so many guys my age (59) or thereabouts who definitely would consider a scandal-ridden black male above a clean-slate white woman. That may sound ridiculous but it is the way they think.
If we lose another race like 2010 and Alex Sink I'm going to be sick.

(1,737 posts)I live in Broward county and I have not seen any advertisement from Graham. If I didn't do my research and watch the debates, I wouldn't even know that she was on the ballot. Recently I saw a negative ad about her and the Everglades. If she doesn't think we are important enough down here, then she doesn't deserve my vote. Most people I have spoken to are voting for Gillum and a few for Levine. I saw my 1st Graham yard sign yesterday.
I have heard that Graham was here last weekend when early voting began. I have read an article where she was hoping that a concert would boost her support in South FL. Really?
I'll vote for whoever wins, in November but I'm not enthused about Levine, Greene or Graham at this point.

(171,034 posts)I was swayed by a Dem knocking on my door, a first since I've lived here. So knocking on doors works!

(14,565 posts)When I lived in Henderson, NV it happened all the time. I mean all the time. It can't be understated how sophisticated that turnout machine is, after being emphasized and fortified by Harry Reid.
Now that I'm back in Miami the Republican operatives go door to door in waves but I never see it from Democrats. I only know about the GOP version because my Republican sister lived here two years ago so they came for her. Some of them still try this address so I shoo them away. I literally tell some of them off, "I would never vote for a Republican in my life. Get out of here."
I am like the old man saying get off my lawn. But I don't care. I hate that I see so many groups of those Republican door to door types. There is a T in front of my house so often they'll gather there and I see them organizing which ones will cover which homes.
I know this will be starting up again soon, once the primaries are over.
