So what is the process of making a new state of South Florida?

How could that be done? In outlook and culture we are totally different from the rest of Florida. We are progressive and forward looking. We want to address climate change. We want good schools. Right now we are shackled to a regressive, backwards looking north Florida.

The only time anything like this has ever been done is during the American Civil War when West Virginia was created. It would be necessary for the Florida State Legislature to agree to the formation of the new state. I'm dubious that would happen. Truth be known, the State probably should be split somewhere north of I-4, but again, I don't see that happening.

I'm really thinking about moving. Thirty years on the Redneck Riviera, Michael, and now DeSantis. The Gulf Coast will be unrecognizable after his sleazy developers get done with it.

they'll be flooded out of existence in a couple years anyway. Might as well seek higher ground while there;s some left.

The Republicans are doing nothing to address this issue. South Florida is an economic powerhouse and I think we are plundered by the Northern part of the state. I am so upset and angry this morning. I am not a native Floridian but I have come to love the Beauty of this state and the many wonderful people I meet here in Palm Beach County. I am just so sad for this State.
