Deputies: Daytona man pledged to commit mass shooting in text messages
Volusia County Sheriffs Office obtained text messages that showed intent to open fire on large group of people, deputies say
A Daytona Beach man was arrested Friday after deputies were alerted to text messages he sent that contained detailed plans and desires to commit a mass shooting, according to the Volusia County Sheriffs Office.
Tristan Scott Wix, 25, was charged with making threats to commit a mass shooting. He is being held without bail at the Volusia County Branch Jail.
One of Wixs texts stated, A school is a weak target.. id be more likely to open fire on a large crowd of people from over 3 miles away.. Id wanna break a world record for longest confirmed kill ever.
Another stated, But a good 100 kills would be nice. I already have a location ... is that bad?
