A day after Seminole officials said they would not impose a stay-at-home order as Orange and Osceola counties did this week, they instead moved forward with tough new restrictions that would limit capacity in grocery stores and break up large gatherings of more than 10 people.
Starting Monday, businesses will have to require that employees and customers stand at least 6 feet apart, a distance recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as a way of slowing the growing number of coronavirus cases.
Hair salons, massage parlors and tattoo shops will be required to close, officials said.
Seminole Commission Chairman Jay Zembower insisted the restrictions did not amount to a stay-at-home order one day after the county held a press conference to reject calls for such a measure from officials in Orange and Osceola counties and Orlando.
