In every county-wide contested race in Monroe County, a woman ended up on top. There were six contested races among Democratic candidates.
... this is a heavy dem county, so aside from the congressional race, most of these women will become the front runner for the general. But here's to hoping that the carpet bagger who moved to the state and had his first race paid for by his millionaire father (Trey Hollingsworth) gets shown the door in November.
I was rooting for (and voted for) one of the defeated candidates (for Judge) - but his opponent will do a good job as well.
