Today Iowa Republicans introduced a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage in Iowa.

H.J.R. 8
Section 1. The following amendment to the Constitution of the State of Iowa is proposed:

Article I of the Constitution of the State of Iowa is amended by adding the following new section:

Sec. 26. Marriage. In accordance with the laws of nature and nature’s God, the state of Iowa recognizes the definition of marriage to be the solemnized union between one human biological male and one human biological female.

Sigh. I suppose this is a way to get at Obergefell, assuming they can get it in the ballot, and get it approved.

What happens to those who were legally married if Obergefell is overturned? These yahoos are incapable of looking beyond their current shiny object.

If they can overturn Obergefell, which is based on the 14th Amendment, you think a statute will stand in their way?

Isn't it time to stand up as a collective whole and tell these bigots NO NO NO! to these types of bills, amendments, and the like.

not just Iowa or even just red states.

Look around the rural areas in blue states...you'll find the same people.
