Dubuque TH enables harassment

An area woman sent in a letter to the editor last week. Of course since the TH insists on printing the full goddamn address some dirtbags harassed her. At least she's standing up to the TH and the harassers;

I feel like your gross negligence has continued even after my letter to the editor was published last week. You should know that there is someone in town that likes to consistently harass persons who write in to the TH. These items are not something meek and mild that discusses their disagreement with my opinion. These postcards are vicious and depraved. The only reason I've been receiving them over the past few days is because you still have the archaic policy of publishing someone's full address in the paper when you receive a letter to the editor. It seems the only reason to keep this policy is to deter persons from writing in to the TH and challenging your point of view. It opens up citizens who do write in to harassment and potentially dangerous situations. This policy is unethical and negligent on the part of the editor and intimidates your readers.

She has reported this to the police and I hope it gets the idiots at the TH who think publishing the address is still a good idea to reconsider. I send in letters too and it's one thing I don't look forward to is the dumbfuckery that invades my mailbox each time.

The ones who disagree with me are indeed usually dumbfuckery. The more thoughtful who disagree often send in a letter of their own, and include their names. The dumbfuck letters are seldom signed. Is that your experience? Anonymous dumbfuckery?

The ones that want to thank me usually have a return address. Those that don't usually don't include their name or address.
