Long-awaited report on Kentucky pension system investments is in. You just can't see it

A law firm contracted by the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority to investigate "improper or illegal activities" related to its past investments has completed its report and submitted it to Kentucky's attorney general, according to a new filing Thursday in Franklin Circuit Court.

What it says is still a mystery. The long-awaited report on controversial hedge fund investments hasn't been turned over to the public.

Lawyers for the state pension system denied The Courier Journal's open-records request for the report Tuesday, indicating it had not been finalized, and have not replied to a subsequent request after its new court filing.
