Very strange. In spite of what looks like weather in my immediate vicinity (pic above).....absolute and complete quietness (a couple of crows just made their presence known).. No wind at all. No noise. No birds or squirrels in the feeder. Zippo.
I got a theory about this.
When the winds don't move at all. wildlife comes to a standstill.

In my area, at least, when all the wildlife goes quiet, it's usually indicative of rough weather coming in.

I just returned from my book club and noticed the same thing.
Maybe nature is waiting with bated breath during our primary here in Maine.

They critters know, and they are hunkering down before it hits.
