Pleased to say I received this from CONGRESSMAN Jamie Raskin today:

The good news is that we can win. After Democrats and public interest groups mobilized a huge public campaign, moving citizens and newspapers to protest and even Donald Trump to tweet, they withdrew the proposal to shut down the Office of Congressional Ethics and added at least a modest appeal to the new crackdown on the rights of Members on the House floor. The new rule’s still totally unconstitutional, but we showed with the plan to close down the Office of Congressional Ethics that we can win when we can fight.

Let’s Join the Women’s March on Washington, Saturday, January 21, 2017!

Mass popular action is going to be essential in the new period to defend democracy and civil rights and liberties. I am going to participate in the Women’s March on Washington on Saturday, January 21st and hope you will join a great contingent from Maryland’s 8th Congressional District (Montgomery, Frederick and Carroll Counties).

We will be meeting for a big revival breakfast reception before the march at the Silver Spring Civic Center. There will be good food, uplifting one-minute speeches from local Democratic leaders, and “equality bus rides” down to the march. If you’re planning to march, please come to breakfast, get on the bus and march with us!

Please click here to sign up and, if you like, make a contribution in support of our continuing organizing efforts to defend the Republic.

Let’s use our First Amendment rights to defend equality. Let’s show them what a popular majority looks like. Join me Saturday, January 21st!
