Make a Difference Today. Help Someone Register to Vote

Maryland has finally gotten its act together and you can register on line. The website for registering is: [link:https://voterservices.elections.maryland.gov/OnlineVoterRegistration/InstructionsStep1]

Many years ago when Obama was running, I was campaigning in Baltimore and bumped into my next door neighbor who was registering for the first time in her life. She was an older woman, in her 50's, and very embarrassed to be "caught out". Her church was running a voter registration drive, so she went.

All that to say, you never know whether someone is registered. So you have to be nosy. You have to ask. And then you have to steer. If you steer to [link:http://vote411.org], it will dump you to the Maryland Website; it just takes longer.

So please, take a moment to reach out to the people around you, especially those who just turned 18, and help them get registered. It's easy, and very important.

My nephew lives a little east of here, near Frederick. He's 20 and I helped to convince him it was worth it.
