Charles Democratic committee selects new elections board member
Democrats from Charles County forwarded a name to the governor to fill a vacant seat on the local board of elections.
The Charles County Democratic Central Committee selected Jacqueline Briscoe, an Indian Head resident, as the person to fill the vacancy last Thursday during a special hearing meeting.
Committee members Roderick Lewis and Tiffany Daniel abstained from voting.
The seat became vacant when Jackie Gray resigned late last year after she got a new job and would not have been able to take off work for the board’s monthly meetings as easily, Wade Beswick, election director for Charles board of elections, told Southern Maryland News.
