8 Public Parks in Boston Tapped For Investment & Improvement

Now that Summer is in full swing and temperatures are consistently hovering in the 70-, 80- and even 90-degree range, people are increasingly spending time outside, whether to work remotely in one of several Wi-Fi accessible spaces, work on their tan or take a nap in rays of the setting sun. The recently approved City of Boston budget in June will afford these parks a number of improvements poised to further improve one's outdoor experience.

The FY 2016 budget lists several parks tapped for revitalization of some kind, some of which are noted as already having existing capital for these projects while others will soon be receiving freshly green-lit money. It's important to note that while some parks received a round of funding in the last or previous years, they're listed on this budget because for some parks funding comes in waves.

That is to say while they may have received an allotment in FY 2015 and not FY 2016, depending on the project stage another one could even be coming in FY 2017.

Despite these various levels of completion, the allotments both prior and most recent bring these open green spaces on step closer to achieving a landscape aptly suitable for Bostonians, visitors and everyone in between.

I live near a lighted public ball park - two complete fields under lights.

Of course the city has not finished these things yet.
