DPH investigating release of patient information at medical marijuana dispensary
6:43 PM EDT Aug 13, 2015

SALEM, Mass. —The Massachusetts Department of Health is investigating an incident involving patient information at Alternative Therapies Group, of Salem, the state's first registered marijuana dispensary.

5 Investigates has learned that ATG sent an email to patients today that exposed patient email addresses to a wide group of people.

Email addresses should have been entered into the "blind carbon copy" field but were not.

~snip~

It is unclear at this time how many email addresses, which are protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, were revealed.
