Early on the morning of April 25, 2016 Lansing Board of Water & Light were the victim of ransomware that came through a phishing virus that infected their corporate networks.

They say they immediately locked-down their corporate networks to protect the system while they started work on developing a solution. They are working with local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities.

No utility function has been lost during the attack and no personal customer information has been compromised.
