Duggan, other Dems agree: Party is in disarray

MACKINAC ISLAND — Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan offered a stinging rebuke to the Democratic Party on Thursday, warning that its disarray could give rise to a third national political party and that he was "so frustrated with the Hillary Clinton campaign, I could have screamed."

"They never articulated a vision for why there would be more opportunity for people willing to work hard and get new schools," he said. "Detroit is a lot of blue-collar folks, and they never could articulate why (people should choose them).

"'He's terrible. Vote against him,' Duggan said, citing the party's mantra against Donald Trump. "They left themselves vulnerable and look what happened.

"I don't see the Democratic Party solving that right now. Some of the things the president is doing are so damaging, (but the party) seems perfectly happy to attack him. If the Democratic Party doesn't come up with a set of principles and policies that create opportunity for people who haven't had it, I think a third party is going to emerge."

2. I Want My Country Back

I propose the following 5 points to address the ills of our country, i.e. what the next President should do with his/her first week in office. Here is the list, Day 1 through 5.
1. Minimum wage of $15/hr.
2. Medicare for all. It has been too long without any input on how to solve our national problem by the AMA or the insurance companies. Let’s solve it for them. Having 18% of our GDP go to our health care outcome is unacceptable. The problem has never been addressed truthfully. Thanks MSM. I say we pull 10% from the military budget and build national medical schools with applicants accepted on merit and graduating without debt they work in public health clinics for a reasonable salary. We should not be looking to make money off our fellow Americans sickness. Also, when our % of GDP rises this high is does affect our national security. This involves war powers act. Is not this how the interstate highway system was built – so we could move military items around this country quickly. I would initially said improve the ACA but at this juncture even it were improved and included a public option, private insurance could not compete, nor should it in a so called Christian Country.
3. A four(4) trillion dollar infrastructure program over 10 years. With a national economy generating 160-180 trillion over that period to say you cannot afford to maintain your house is not only appalling it is failing in your fiduciary duty as a public servant to at least say what the right thing to do is. Thanks for nothing McConnell and Ryan.
4. A tax plan to make all sound over 30 years. This would include a significant inheritance tax of all estates over 10 billion. I would also suggest a 90% tax on all foreign money not brought back to the States within 6 months. When asked why he robbed banks, Butch Cassidy said that’s where the money is. Well guess what, when you tax people you have to tax those that have it. And since too many moneyed morons refuse to open their eyes to reality, well, let a seasoned Democratic team help.
5. My Marshall plan for our country. Another trillion dollars invested over 10 years. Half to coal country. The men and women in his country brought china to the table and energy to the world. They were given the short end of the stick, then the coal companies ripped the tops off the mountains and left the tailings to pollute. Clean and heal the countryside and people. Start a Manhattan Energy project to find new ways to bring green power to all. The other half would go to the Midwest and manufacturing zones. If we want to be a community we need to act like one. Retool and adapt. Many of the old jobs will never come back. The art of making buggy whips was also lost. Change we must.

For the second week of the new administration I propose:

1. The anti-Robert rule. This would properly address the completely fictitious notion that our forefather could believe that an international corporation such as GE could possibly have an equivalent voice as an individual. For the purposes of an election I would limit corporations to those with fewer than 100 people all of whom are American Citizens.
2. The anti-Gorsuch rule. This would make lunacy of the notion that politicians should write technical legislation. In NYS when they wrote asbestos abatement rules, the politicians wrote the regulations such that you were required to put poly over the floor you were to abate. To correct this problem, rather than correct the improper rule, they made every person doing work submit a variance to get around the stupidity. Thanks political hacks pretending to know what you do. How do you spell moron Gorsuch?
3. Bring back the Fairness Doctrine with retroactive teeth. No company should be able to use the public airwaves against the county . How could Les Moonvies ever have uttered the phrase that it may not be good for the country but it is good for the company when asked about the Drumpt coverage. This picture is wrong. I ‘m thinking jail time or a firing squad on the White House lawn for treason.
4. Correct the FCC’s mistakes about agglomeration of the media market. Michael Powell when on this Commission did more to take away our freedoms than most realize.
Along with these rules we need to change our national dialogue. We are a nation of many. Remember that true freedom is borne of discipline which takes effort. We need wise and honorable men to lead us and our political parties and the MSM have failed. We the people need to unite again. Bring back the draft with national service a component for all.
By the third week when the dust settles, we shall abolish the electoral college and prosecute all those who stole during the 2008 meltdown. Why no one or few were prosecuted I will not blame Obama, and maybe people were too afraid as to where it would end. Obama stepped into a mess and did superbly well with the hand dealt. I believe this was also due to the corrosive and toxic culture which permeated our society. People forgot it is correct to obey the laws. This happens in corporations where people allow their morality to be controlled by the acceptance of a paycheck (Sinclair Lewis).
So be it. Enough fear from the morons running the government. Resist and Move Forward.
