Bill Schuette Says He Would Ban Abortion in Michigan if Roe v. Wade is Overturned

New reporting from Politico today is revealing that Bill Schuette is planning to ban safe and legal access to abortion as governor in Michigan if Roe v. Wade is overturned.

Politico reports that:

“In an interview, Schuette spokesman John Selleck said the Republican ‘is 100 percent pro-life’ and that as governor he would enforce Michigan laws including the pre-Roe abortion ban.”

This comes as Bill Schuette has continued to tout Donald Trump’s extreme nomination for the Supreme Court of the United States, which threatens Roe v. Wade, among other generations of progress on healthcare, voting rights, and civil rights.

“These new comments from Bill Schuette are deeply alarming and make absolutely clear that women’s fundamental freedoms to make decisions about their bodies are at risk,” said Michigan Democratic Party Chair Brandon Dillon. “We must elect a new, Democratic governor who will be a rock-solid line of defense when Donald Trump’s terrible decisions and policies threaten Michigan families.”

who think they have the authority to control womens' reproductive choices never understand is this ---

Even if you ban it, make it illegal, put people in jail, you will NOT STOP women from having abortions. Why can't they get this through their thickened skulls ??

Abortion has been around for eons. Not safe abortions, mind you, but abortions nonetheless and they will always be around. Plus, it's not just women that want abortions, many times their partners aren't ecstatic about maybe having to support an unwanted baby for their entire lives, so they urge their partners to "take care of" the little problem. (Yeah, I'm looking at you Trump.)

It's not even about abortion. It's about control. I believe the first edition of "Our Bodies, Ourselves" had instructions as to how women should learn how to give other women abortions safely, similar to training women to be midwives.

It doesn't mean these idiots won't continue to try to get rid of Roe v. Wade. Look up Ave Maria law school. Their so reason for existing is to brainwash lawyers to work on overturning Roe v Wade, trying to shove their Catholic dogma down everyone's throats.
