Concerts returning to Metro Detroit in 2021: The latest shows

(Detroit Free Press) More than a year after the pandemic abruptly halted concert touring, artists are making plans to get back in front of audiences.

The concert schedule at metro Detroit venues is quickly coming to life again, with shows being booked for August and beyond. The pandemic isn’t over yet, and anything can change, but performers, promoters and venues are banking that things are headed in a positive direction.

Here’s a running guide. It will updated regularly as new concerts and rescheduled dates are announced.

Riff Fest, Sept. 18-19, DTE Energy Music Theatre

(Announced May 3) Rob Zombie and Megadeth will headline the latest edition of Riff Fest, playing DTE Energy Music Theatre Sept. 18-19.

The WRIF-FM hard-rock festival will feature a Sept. 18 lineup of Zombie, Chevelle, Avatar, Candlebox and Ayron Jones on DTE’s main stage, while Twiztid, South of Eden and Eva Under Fire will play a second parking-lot stage. ............(more)
