FLINT, MI -- The alleged assault between two Flint Board of Education members is under investigation by Flint police, Detective Sgt. Tyrone Booth has confirmed.

At a committee meeting on Wednesday, March 23, Board President Danielle Green allegedly attacked fellow board member Laura MacIntyre by grabbing her throat, slamming her head on a table and punching her multiple times, leaving blood in the Flint Community Schools administration building.

The board held an emergency meeting later in the day to remove Green from her presidency and appoint new officers, as well as discuss safety at board meetings and consider added security measures. ... MacIntyre, who was treated for a concussion, said she did not fight back and the attack was unprovoked.

The group was discussing building new schools, which has been a contentious topic at past board meetings. Green is in favor of working with the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation to build schools and MacIntyre strongly opposes the foundation and its dealings.
