Live: State, feds to announce joint investigation into Alex Pretti shooting, sources say

2/5/2026
The breakthrough agreement comes amid a strained relationship between the FBI and the state’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the FBI will announce a joint investigation into the shooting death of Alex Pretti, according to two people with direct knowledge of the agreement.

Pretti was shot and killed by Border Patrol agents in south Minneapolis on Jan. 24. It’s not clear if the state will be given access to materials for a separate investigation into the killing of Renee Good by an ICE agent on Jan. 7.

Why are they not prosecuting Jonathan Ross?
I say it is because he is white and Pretti's shooters are non-white.
