Yes Occupy is still active in MN.. some upcoming events 2/24 through 2/27 Tar Sands, Brother Ali

Occupy Mpls. has had open Potluck dinners and discussions every Wednesday evening for over a year. 6pm at 4200 Cedar Ave. S. Everyone welcome for these All Committees Meetings!

On 2/27, Nick of Rogue Media will show us how to make event pages and other social media skills-come early, before dinner at 5:15. Bring food to share if you can.

Tarsands pipe lines in Texas and Pipeline 67 in northern MN have been a focus for many occupiers.

As in Minnesota, silica frack sand mines as well as processing mills have proliferated in Wisconsin since 2010, leaping from ten to 110 mines!

There is also the threat by Governor Scott Walker's reactionary administration to lift the state's moratorium on hard-rock, metallic sulfide mining. In addition, there is a new iron mine being proposed in the Penokee Range in northwestern Wisconsin.
Taconite extraction is not the benign activity it' long been claimed to be.

Carl Sack, who is a journalist in addition to being an environmentalist, will be speaking with power point about efforts on the part of the Ojibwe People & other grassroots activists to oppose these ecologically harmful enterprises.

Sunday Feb 24th, Occupy Minneapolis will host an afternoon of discussion and film at Boneshaker Books. An open forum around the Civil Rights movement will follow the showing of an amazing film, Soundtrack for a Revolution.
