Was an ad that I half listened on MSNBC earlier today. Did not watch closely to find out who is behind it.
Something like "the IRS wants to curb free speech of political groups and Franken supports it. Even the ACLU opposes this legislation."
Yeah, right, go ahead do your political activity. But don't expect to get tax exemption. For all sides.
Apparently there was a web page that invited people to comment and most want to keep this tax exemption. Wish I knew ab about it, would have added my view.. not that it would have mattered much.

(102,282 posts)Maybe they were referring to the iRS? I note (via google) this RW ad posted here: http://moelane.com/2014/03/26/al-franken-freedom-of-speech/ But it is RW bullshit from those who support Citizens United, which Franken adamantly does not.
He does, however wish to ensure free speech by protecting net neutrality--a very good thing unless you are part of the 1% corporatist faction of this nation.

question everything
(47,481 posts)Did not follow the caucuses so I don't know if someone won the votes - for the senate and for the governor.
Or do they need the convention to anoint someone?
I was hoping that since Dayton bypassed the convention, and since another convention did not endorse anyone for the Minneapolis mayor, that their power would be diminished by now.
