McFadden trying to call Congress back into session on recess

This is very interesting by Mike McFadden, Franken's opponent. He is demanding Congress to break from summer recess and come back for Iraq (somewhat reasonable), and Immigration (not reasonable). He is really getting ahead of himself, it takes major events (by Strib story) to do it, and while Iraq has war influences, the GOP has stalled on immigration anyways and would not move on it anyways, McFadden is just posturing.

Also there is something in the Pioneer Press that he would prefer Chinese steel to build Keystone XL, as long as it was cheaper, it is a quote from Farmfest.

At Farmfest last week, after Franken said if the Keystone Pipeline were built it should use American steel, McFadden said he would love for the project to be built with American steel but that he'd go with steel from China, for example, if it were cheaper and not subsidized by the Chinese government.

Talk about out of touch.

The really tight campaigns need this time to get out the vote. This is why they have this recess every year. I know that passing bills is important, but so is knocking on doors, calling, making speeches, etc. If they need to pass bills ensure that they have them typed up, understood, and ready to go in October for the vote.

China got the steel from the WTC/9-11 for free. Bush couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

His big points were to get the economy moving and repealing the ACA. Apparently, Mr. experienced businessman is oblivious to the economy doing great, while everyone except the rich are sliding backwards. Amazingly, he was asked what he would replace the ACA with and he started tap dancing about parts of the ACA that were good, but that private business can do a better job than the government. So he also mostly oblivious to the fact that the ACA IS private business...

The Cons always talk about small business when they know damn well it will only benefit big business.
