A college wrestler attending Minnesota State University – Moorhead is under arrest after inviting his floor-mates to view a half-naked 18-year-old coed he got drunk before taking her to his room where he filmed himself sexually assaulting her.

Angel Mario Vega, 23, was charged on Wednesday in Clay County District Court with one count of felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a helpless victim, and with one count of providing alcohol to someone under 21, reported the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead.

Responding to a call, police entered Vega’s dorm in Grantham Hall on the MSUM campus where they discovered one woman lying ion a bed vomiting into a trashcan, with another woman lying on the floor unconscious, partially undressed, having vomited upon herself.

According to police, Vega bent down, grabbed the woman on the floor and told her to be quiet when he saw the police enter the room.

This is most assuredly not his first rape. The brazen way in which he acted with what he thought would be impunity and his order to the girl to not talk even as authorities were present leads me to believe that he has acted like this before.

I really hope his other victims come forward. Let this guy get his just desserts.

15. I'm not a lawyer (nor do I play one on TV) but I Googled Minnesota statues because I was wondering

why it was 3rd degree as well.

I can't get the PDF to let me copy relevant sections, but I gather that it can be 3rd degree if there was no penetration (maybe the cops got there in time?) or if there was not "use of threat, force or violence or the use of a weapon". Third degree is used when the victim was not able to voluntarily consent either because they are very young or are incapacitated.

I would imagine that the charges could be amended to 1st or 2nd degree as the investigation proceeds.
