Get to gethers with DFLers are a hoot. Best event of the season. Good food good fun with Al and the rest of the crew just can't make it. Sending the Oldest One in our place.

If the Democrats nationwide are trying to get non-affluent people to vote, they need to hold more low-cost fundraisers. How about taking a cue from Peter DeFazio of Oregon, who was holding $30 pizza and beer fundraisers in the 1990s? If you want to get really poor people involved, how about $5 coffee and cookie fundraisers?

Remember, you need money, but you need votes even more. Even a poor voter is more likely to vote for a candidate with whom he or she has had a face-to-face chat.
