Dan Feehan, a 34-year-old Army veteran who served as a Defense Department official in the Obama administration, is preparing to run in the Minnesota district where he grew up—even though he hasn’t lived there since he was 14. Mr. Feehan, his wife and two children still live in Washington and are house-hunting in Mankato, Minn.

Though the sprawling 21-county district is held by a Democrat, Rep. Tim Walz, Mr. Trump won it by 15 percentage points in November. Mr. Walz is vacating the seat to run for governor.

2. I wish Tim were staying in the House.

He is one of the best minds we have. His talent for analyzing policy and putting it in to terms that people can understand is amazing. However, I understand how being a member of the minority party is frustrating in a system where you have no voice. Wish him well. Being a veteran, I never can understand what's special about veterans but I hope whowever is selected casn win and hold the seat.

3. I hope the DFL is also focusing on re-taking the state legislature.

The Repubs have shown they are all about the ALEC/Koch agenda.

4. Well, the state Senate will stay the way it is in 2018-20 - no senate elections until 2020
