1. GET REGISTERED

days before Election Day. You also have the option to register at your polling place
on Election Day.
But why wait? You can get your registration started right now.
You can get your registration started right now: http://www.GottaRegister.com
If you register to vote at the polls on Election Day, you must provide valid

residence in the precinct.

2. WHAT TO BRING
Minnesota does not require a registered voter to bring ID in order to vote, but if youre
voting in a federal election in Minnesota for the first time, make sure you have one of
these with your current name to the polls to make sure your vote counts:
A valid Minnesota driver's license
A learner's permit
A Minnesota ID card
A receipt for any of the above containing a valid address in the precinct
A student identification card including the voter's photo, if their college has
provided a student housing list to election officials
A tribal ID card that contains the voter's name, picture, signature and address in
the precinct
A valid registration in the same precinct under a different name or address
A notice of late registration that was sent to the voter by their county auditor or
city clerk
Alternatively, a first time voter may present a photo ID from the list below and a bill in
their name that shows their address and is due within 30 days of the date of the
election.
Acceptable photo IDs are:
Minnesota driver's license, Minnesota ID card, United States passport, United States
Military ID, Minnesota university or technical college ID, or a Tribal ID card
Acceptable bills, due within 30 days of the election are:
Gas, Electric, Telephone, Cellular phone, TV (cable, satellite), Solid waste, Water,
Sewer services, Internet services, Student fee statement, or a Rent statement with
itemized utilities.

3. VOTE!
Election Day is Tuesday November 6, 2012. Polls in Minnesota will be
open from 7 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central Time. Some counties outside of
Metropolitan areas may open polling places as late as 10:00 a.m.

VOTE ABSENTEE IN PERSON OR BY MAIL:
Minnesota allows absentee voting for the following reasons:
Absence from your precinct on Election Day
Illness or disability
Serving as an election judge in another precinct
Religious discipline or observance of religious holiday
Eligible emergency declared by the governor or quarantine declared by the
federal or state government
You may vote absentee in person beginning 46 days before Election Day until on the
day before the election. You may also request an absentee ballot by mail until the day
before the election (however, we recommend allowing yourself at least a month
before the election).
For the latest information on where, when and how to vote absentee see the website
of the Minnesota Secretary of State
