Most 17-year-olds in Nebraska encouraged to register to vote

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Most 17-year-olds in Nebraska are now able to register to vote with the start of the new year.

Douglas County Election Commissioner Danielle Jensen encouraged 17-year-olds who will turn 18 by Nov. 3 to register to vote for this year’s upcoming elections in a release sent Friday.

Jensen shared that the Statewide Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, May 12 and the Statewide General Election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 3.

“Individuals who are registered may vote in the Primary Election in May at age 17 as long as they will turn 18 by November 3,” the release reads.
