Workers at seventh Station Casinos property vote for union

Food and beverage and hotel workers at the Fiesta Henderson became the seventh group of employees for a Red Rocks Resort company to vote to be represented for collective bargaining by the Culinary union Friday.

Red Rocks Resorts is the parent company of Station Casinos. The company’s other properties where workers have voted to unionize since 2016 are Boulder Station, Palace Station, Green Valley Ranch, Palms, Sunset Station, and Fiesta Rancho.

“We call on Station Casinos to immediately negotiate and settle a fair contract for the workers at Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, Sunset Station, Palms, Green Valley Ranch, Palace Station, and Boulder Station,” said Geoconda Argüello-Kline, Secretary-Treasurer and leader of the Culinary Union, in a statement.

Workers in each of those properties chose union representation through a secret ballot election supervised by the National Labor Relations Board. Despite the elections results, and a long series of statements over the years from the company that it would honor secret ballot elections, Station Casinos has filed multiple appeals to avoid negotiating with the union.
