Protesting still works.

Bob Hugin is the republican challenging the Senate seat of Bob Menendez. He has been a businessman until 2018. (Former CEO of Celgene). He is also a personal friend of Donald Trump who asked Hugin to challenge Menendez.

The Hugin Campaign revolves around these memes:
1) Bob Menendez thinks that NJ (democratic) voters are stupid because they're voting for him despite his ethics and past corruption.

2) Bob Hugin was a Marine. Time to send in "the Marines".

3) Bob Hugin is a "different kind of Republican" as he supports abortion rights, marriage equality, and pay equality.

Last night, Bob Hugin organized an event at a bar in the town next to mine. Ladies Night! $20 and you got to rub elbows with the next NJ Senator.

Representatives from various local women's groups organized a pop-up protest at the venue. About 30 of us had signs, were chanting. Police were called but we weren't breaking the law. We stayed until the place closed (10:00). Bob Hugin was reluctant to exit (front AND back doors) to confront us. They closed the placed and then he left.

I checked his F/B page and no photos and no entries about his Women's Night. Here's an article about our efforts:

Or have it planned - can you let me know? I KNOW I can get some NJ-7th women involved. Just reach out, send a PM . . .

What you women did was fantastic! I could have been there!

I'm really hoping the Leadership Committee hits hard in ads. Saw the first one on Sunday that hit directly at Bob Hugin's Celgene background.

They need to show him as Trump Transition Team - sitting at the table and rubbing elbows with the It.

Advice: Do it secretly. If Hugin's "machine" learns about your plans, they may not show up

Trump Protest
Hi Everyone! SOMA Action (SouthOrange Maplewood) is gearing up to lead the protest for the Trump-Webber luncheon on Friday, Aug. 10 at the Baltisrol Golf Course in Springfield, NJ. Just thought I'd share the deets.

"Plan so far is to meet at 11:00 at Springfield Veterans Memorial Park (tiny park on the corner of Shunpike and Mountain) walk up Shunpike past golf course and over 78 to orchard side of Briant park and back. Hopefully they don't close the road.range Maplewood) is gearing up to lead the protest for the Trump-Webber luncheon on Friday, Aug. 10 at the Baltisrol Golf Course in Springfield, NJ. Check back on NJ11's website for updates, get ideas for signage, and to see who of your friends are going. I just joined SOMA Action's secret FB group and am hoping there will be an actual event up there.

We have a private group for progressive women in Hunterdon County.

We've been able to 'gotcha' Lance that way quite a bit!
