How did everyone make out after Ida remnants?

Route 202 was closed this morning at the Branchburg line - and we are still at risk of the Raritan flooding.

Had 6 inches in our basement last night that went down by 10 PM.

We are the lucky ones - retaining wall house on a hill. Across the street - neighbors had water past their basement steps into their kitchens.

Doesn't help that our homes are historic (old) and they weren't built for this weather.

My son operated the shop vac to manage it while it was happening, preventing major damage.

I live in Hunterdon, but work in Hudson. Turned around today. I'm hearing Patterson Plank Road and Meadowlands parkway are a mess.

We consider ourselves very lucky. We live on a bit of a hill which helps.

One of my friends in Lambertville had to evacuate pretty quickly last night. The river still hasn't crested there yet.

I don't know how New Hope did. I expect probably more of the same.

I would like to hear Joe come out today and declare that as far as he is concerned the filibuster is dead. Congress should make it so immediately. We need that infrastructure bill and we need it NOW.

Oh - and is now a good time to mention that the tri-state area is one of the biggest contributors to Fed Gov? IE - it's our money anyways? And we have been paying (in my case) our property taxes twice due to the SALT Cap?

were all impassible last night. Luckily our house was OK, but others in my town needed to spend the night in our Community Center that was converted into a shelter. I also have a property in New Brunswick that got water in the basement. The Raritan River covered parts of Routes 18. Between lane and road closings, it took me 2 1/2 hours to get there - the typical time is 50 minutes. Every way I turned, roads were closed because of wash-outs.
