Former Otis manager sentenced to prison for wire fraud
A former office manager of the Otis Mutual Domestic Water Consumers and Sewage Works Association was sentenced in federal court Tuesday to 18 months for wire fraud.
Lori V. Whitaker, 56, was ordered to pay restitution of approximately $816,000, read a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice in Albuquerque.
Whitaker pleaded guilty to the offense on May 2, 2018 and was originally charged with 75 counts of wire fraud.
As part of a plea agreement, Whitaker admitted to committing the crime while employed as the office manager for the company in Otis, read the release.
