Police Search For Suspect In 9-Year-Old Bronx Girl's Shooting

Police are looking for a shooter after a 9-year-old Bronx girl was shot in the torso.

It happened around 9:20 p.m. Friday near the corner of Bailey Avenue and 233th Street in Kingsbridge.

Police say the shooter opened fire while riding on a bike.

Officials say when the ambulance arrived at the scene, the girl was already gone.

They now say she was taken to North Central Bronx Hospital and is expected to survive.

My beloved grandparents lived there into the 90s. It's still a pretty solid area; sorry to hear of these awful shootings anytime, especially when they're on familiar ground.
