Bikers rally at Capitol for better protections

By MATTHEW DONDIEGO

Motorcycles lined State Street outside the Capitol today, as bikers rallied for new laws that would protect them against profiling by police and other laws to help promote the motorcycle industry in the state.

Joined by Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, members of the group American Bikers Aimed Toward Education, called for the state to pass a bill (A.3954/S.7424) sponsored by the assemblywoman requiring police training programs to include motorcycle profiling in basic law enforcement training.

According to Robert "Bar" Porter, president of ABATE, the wildly popular television series, Sons of Anarchy, has skewed the public's perception of motorcycle clubs as rocket launcher-wielding criminals.

"It's just insane what they've put into the minds of people," he said, explaining he was witnessed professional lawyers reference the television show in prosecution cases against bikers.

I bought some new perennials and annuals to add flowering beauty.
I'm planting the perennials in bigger pots instead of the ground. If at all possible ... we'll buy a small parcel of land and move everything (including the house) within the next two to five years.

I'm really glad I spent the extra money to keep it inside.
I may buy a 10' x 10' storage shed this summer then the trike can stay here.

I should be back to my old self in another month.
Right now my cougar self is in retirement. Life is too serene almost boring.

Old habits are hard to break. I heard about a large load going to Michigan and almost ask for the job.

Our son bought me the first season on DVD. He asked for months if I'd watched it yet. I finally watched it and immediately ordered the following seasons. Now I can't wait for the final season this fall. Sonny Barger is in a few scenes as is a 1%'er from NY. It's glorified for TV or it would be boring. But it's a pretty realistic but glorified look into the outlaw biker lifestyle. If you decide to check it out, do so from season one. It starts out kind of lame and grows more intense with each episode. It'll draw you in.
