It's Finally Known! Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver Makes Up To $450,000 From His Law Firm

One of the longstanding Albany questions has finally been answered today. Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver makes between $350,000 and $450,000 a year from his law firm.

The figure was part of the new more detailed disclosure requirements lawmakers must now follow.

Silver's salary for being of counsel at Weitz & Luxenberg has been an issue for years.

Some have speculated his annual income at the firm topped $1 million.

The powerful speaker under the old ethics laws did not have to publicly reveal how much he made, other than it was it above $1,000 a year.
