Edward Snowden to make (virtual) New York City appearance at tech forum

NSA leaker Edward Snowden may not be able to return to the U.S., but he'll soon be making an appearance in New York nonetheless.
The self-described patriot, who turned the intelligence world upside down when he disclosed thousands of sensitive documents and is living in exile in Moscow, will give the keynote address -- via Google+ Hangout -- at this week's Personal Democracy Forum conference.
"This years conference theme is 'Save the Internet/The Internet Saves' and focuses on various challenges facing the open internet but also on how the Internet continues to be a remarkable platform for free expression and political change," said conference Co-Founder Andrew Rasiej, a former candidate for public advocate, in a statement Monday.
