Eliot Spitzer takes lead over Scott Stringer in controller race after just three days: poll

By Erin Durkin , Celeste Katz AND Jennifer Fermino / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Just three days after his surprising return to politics, hooker-happy former Gov. Eliot Spitzer has vaulted into a 42%-to-33% lead over Scott Stringer in the Democratic primary for city controller, a new poll shows.

Based on name recognition alone, Spitzer was expected to grab an early advantage over Stringer, who holds the low-profile job of Manhattan borough president.

His powers would be limited but if he were to work with the AG office it might be good. hrmjustin Jul 2013 #4
Hopefully he knows what's at stake - I have a feeling he does. polichick Jul 2013 #5

The question has always been for Spitzer, can he work well with others. He has a history of not playing nice with others.
