Jury Finds Boyfriend Guilty Of Aspiring Fashion Designer's Murder
A jury has convicted the man charged with killing his girlfriend inside a room at the Soho House.
After two days of deliberations, the panel found Nicholas Brooks guilty of second-degree murder.
The district attorney argued that Brooks strangled and murdered clothing designer Sylvie Cachay, 33, who he was in an on-again, off-again relationship with.
Brooks, the son of composer Joseph Brooks, said he left Cachay alive at the Soho House that night, saying she was woozy from medication and lack of sleep.
