for this dangerous tool.

He's a fundraising genius, but not much else. Too bad he's a Democrat, but worse are the Republicans who want the job.

It's propagated by the $$$ media here as well as by Cuomo Inc. itself.

He *HAS* a DEM Primary opponent. Law professor and ethics-in-gov't advocate Zephyr Teachout.

(No DEM electeds here have the *guts* to challenge the machine. That itself is quite a commentary.)

Also.. there's a pretty strong GREEN candidate ( Howie Hawkins) who will draw a lot of votes if the Money Machine offers a Nov. "choice" between "horrrible" and "terrible".

a terrible waste.

You do realize what it costs for a statewide primary-- over 200 bucks for each poll inspector, printing the ballots, trucks to move the machines around, overtime at the county election HQs...

All for yet another tilt at a windmill that will be forgotten in a week or so.

And any Green, Working Families, or whatever will just steal votes from somebody, only slightly changing the odds with the top two. Methinks more people will just stay home.

Mine does.

I've no doubt it would be cheaper to eliminate primaries ( and elections for that matter.) altogether ... but what do we do with Quid Pro Cuomo instead ?

I'm fine w. impeachment.... but I think it would have to be the legislature that would have to do the impeaching. We can't find anyone there who will even *speak* against him, much less RUN against him much less vote to IMPEACH him.

I guess we can pray for a federal indictment.

Staying home: most people do that anyway. They tend, alas, to be less informed than the morons who vote.

I'll support Teachout til further notice. ( Among other things.... she's got the coolest name.)

She doesn't take votes from anyone.... 'ceptin' Status Cuomo.

and we've already been hit here with "non-primary day" primaries.

I don't see anything specifically impeachable, but a bigger problem seems to be that absolutely nobody gives a rat's ass. Look at the LIRR strike-- in the last few days he was accused of being hands off and planned a trip saying he couldn't help. Then, at the last minute when something was worked out, he suddenly didn't have to make the trip and could sit at the front of the table. Nobody I noticed talked about that. Even the really bad stuff, like Moreland, is being ignored.

I'm used to Suffolk County Dems, where our annual "convention" was a half hour of introductions and self praise followed by 15 minutes of being told what was already decided, but the disease is getting completely out of hand.
