Howard Dean: Cuomo challenger Zephyr Teachout is ‘really, really smart’

Jon Campbell

Howard Dean, the former Vermont governor and one-time Democratic presidential frontrunner, has very nice things to say about Zephyr Teachout, his director of Internet organizing during his 2004 run for the White House.

But he won’t be offering any formal support for her run against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a Democratic primary this year.

From the Burlington Free Press’ Terri Hallenbeck:

Dean, the former national Democratic Party chairman, said he told Teachout he is unable to contribute to her campaign or get formally involved in deference to his and Cuomo’s roots in the Democratic Party, but he’s still a big fan.

Zephyr Teachout? I'd vote for her based on the name alone! Erich Bloodaxe BSN Aug 2014 #1
lol! I am thinking of voting for her in the primary as a protest to Cuomo and because I like her. hrmjustin Aug 2014 #2
I think I might prefer her to Cuomo, from what little I've read. NYC_SKP Aug 2014 #3
