In what the Teachout-Wu campaign deemed a “surprising rebuke” to Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the National Organization for Women New York State chapter endorsed the insurgent Democratic gubernatorial-LG ticket in advance of the Sept. 9 primary.

“Zephyr Teachout is a dynamic woman with an inspiring, compelling vision that will shake up Albany and the old boys club that runs this state for the benefit of the few,” NOW-NYS President Zenaida Mendez said in a statement released late this afternoon.

“The National Organization for Women is proud to be part of this historic effort to elect the first woman Governor in New York State history.”
