Several Religious Sites, School Defaced With Red Paint In Bay Ridge-I was baptized in this church.

NY1News

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating how at least four separate religious sites and a school in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn were defaced with red paint.

Police were first alerted shortly after 3 a.m. today, when it was found that red paint was painted on an outdoor crucifix and a statue of the Virgin Mary at St. Anselm's Church on 356 82nd Street.

Then, police canvassed the area and found four other incidents of vandalism.

The word "no" was spray-painted in red on the outside of the Bay Ridge Jewish Center at 405 81st Street.

This is my neighborhood and I was baptized in this church and received my sacraments here before I Became an Episcopalian. I also went to school here. I am heartbroken. I hope they catch the bastards!

This atheist loves religious culture. Knowing and understanding the beliefs from which it sprang is equally important.

It is ignorance which spurns people to do things like this. Cultural destruction is an abomination if there ever was one.
