WOODSTOCKZephyr Teachout traveled more than 300 miles from Rochester to Woodstock on Thursday, drawing supportive crowds and interested reporters with her message of protest against the policies of the current administration.
The second day of Teachout's "whistleblower" bus tour was more tightly run than the first, when the campaign was forced to cancel one event, and arrived an hour late to at least two others.
Over the course of seven stops on Thursday, Teachout stuck firmly to an anti-Cuomo, anti-status quo refrainrailing against fracking, Common Core, casinos and the Time Warner-Comcast mergerwithout offering much in the way of an affirmative vision for how to reverse the region's decades-long decline.
Teachout started the day at Rochester's Village Gate Square, arriving more or less on time, and she spoke to 75 supporters, stressing the two main tenets of her pitch to upstate voters: opposition to fracking and the new Common Core curriculum standards, as embodied by private testing companies.
